Roy Dennis "R.D." Keck Sr.

Keck, Roy Dennis (R.D.), Sr., age 84, of Knoxville. R.D. (Papaw) went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2015. He will be remembered as a hard worker who enjoyed singing, going to yard sales, giving away Bibles, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was retired from Martin Marietta Energy Systems.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice June Keck; daughter, Connie Gay Keck; parents, L.E. and Dovie Keck; 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Helton; son, Dennis (Johnnie) Keck; grandchildren, Scott (Amanda) Tippens, Brent (Christina) Tippens, Ashley (Dudley) Votaw, Justin (MarKita) Keck, Derek (Ashley) Keck; great-grandchildren, David, Emileigh, and Erica Tippens; Ethan and Kinsleigh Page; Avery Votaw; Noah, Jaylea, Eli and Mason Keck; sisters, Agnes Emert and Ella Bumgardner.

The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff of Shannondale Healthcare Facility for the love, care, and support R.D. received.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., September 12th, with celebration of life services at 7:00 p.m. in Weaver Funeral Home’s Chapel. Grandson Rev. Justin Keck will be officiating. Family and friends will gather at Lynch-Bethel Cemetery, 1:45 p.m. Sunday for 2 p.m. graveside services, Rev. David Stooksbury presiding. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, which R.D. founded and taught for many years.
