

Rollins, Sam, age 77, of South Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at his home after a short battle with lung cancer. Sam was a member of Gap Creek Christian Church. He was owner of Sam Rollins Plumbing Company and retired after 50 years of service. Sam was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Sam’s greatest joys were watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by parents, Pap and Denzil Rollins; sisters, Betty Moody, Katherine Rollins; brothers, Howard, George and Everett Rollins. Survived by wife, Annette Younce Rollins; daughter, Sis Mikels and husband, Tom; sons, Brian Rollins and wife, Sandy; John Rollins and wife, Sherry; grandchildren, Josh Rollins and wife, Scarlet; Kassie and Kerrie Mikels; Courtney Burlingame and husband, John Ed; Austin Boone; Brody and Kendall Rollins; great-grandchildren Payton Grace Rollins; sister, Geneva Beaver; and many special nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends 5:30-8:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. John Finley Younce, Sam’s special nephew, will be officiating. Family and friends will meet Friday at Seven Islands Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. interment service. Full military honors by Volunteer State Honor Guard.
