Matthews, Sam 70 of Knoxville, TN went to his Heavenly Home Tuesday, October 25, 2016. He was of the Baptist faith. Sam was a proud veteran who served in Vietnam. He retired from Asarco Mining Company in New Market, TN after 36 years of faithful service. Sam enjoyed camping with his friends and family. He is preceded in death by parents, Sam and Effie Matthews. Sam is survived by his children, Chris and Beth Matthews; grandchildren, Logan and Bailey Matthews; siblings, Sharon Underwood, Pam Lane, Roger Matthews, Sondra Aycock, Greg Matthews, Keith Matthews, Mark Matthews, and Rusty Matthews; special friend, Sandy Adler; nieces and nephews; a host of other family.
