Sue Carolyn Sadler Ballard

Sue Carolyn Sadler Ballard, age 87, of South Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. Sue was born May 18, 1938 in Hester, North Carolina in Granville County to Gathon Sadler and Irene Newton Sadler.

Sue was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was a Secretary at Knoxville Presbyterian Church and Detention and Clerical Assistant at Doyle High School.

Sue is survived by her husband of 68 years, Tom R. Ballard; sons, Todd Ballard and wife, Marie, Scott Ballard and wife, Merri Scott; grandchildren, Zachary Ballard of Knoxville, TN, Tessa Ballard of Tampa, FL and Phillip Ballard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters, Betty Sadler Moynahan and husband, Jack, Lana Sadler O'Neal and husband Thed O'Neal, many nieces and nephews in North Carolina and many loving friends and neighbors

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital, ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.

Family and friends will meet 2 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Mount Olive Cemetery for graveside services with Rev. Clarence Gresham officiating. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
