Susan Diane McCarter

Susan Diane McCarter of Powell passed away Saturday March 8, 2025 at the age of 66. Diane was born and lived in the Knoxville area all her life. She graduated from Bearden High School class of seventy-six. Diane retired from Pilot Oil Corp. in fuel accounting.

Preceded in death by her parents, Susan Alice McCarter, and Lee Roy McCarter. She is survived by her sister, Patricia McCarter; brother, Michael McCarter ( Claudette); nephew, Michael Daniel McCarter, one great nephew, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Diane had a great love for animals (her dog Ellie) and sports, especially those Tennessee Vols. She played softball for many years and was an excellent pool player that played in two tournaments in Vegas. She was always up for a trip with her sister and traveled most of the U.S. states plus a few trips to Europe.

She was a no-frills kind of girl and what you see is what you got. She loved and was loved and will be missed.

Family will receive friends Thursday at Weaver’s Chapel from 10-11 am with service to follow at 11 am. John Sexton and Tommy McCarter will speak. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 pm for a 1pm interment at Edgewood Cemetery. Condolences are welcome at weaverfuneralservices.com.
