

Becker, Thomas Harry – age 75, went to meet his heavenly father on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church in Karns for 40 years. His life was devoted to the service of others. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America organization for over 50 years. He served as Scout Master of Troop 50 for 38 years, mentoring over 40 young men on their journey to Eagle Scout. In recognition of his scouting service, he received the Silver Beaver award and the Cross and Flame award. At Beaver Ridge UMC, he enjoyed various mission trips and singing in the choir and praise band. He faithfully served the church holding various positions over the years. He worked at AMETEK for over 30 years as an electrical engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jeanne Marie; daughter Mary Perkins (Scott), sons Tommy (Donna) and Bill (Sherrie); grandchildren Brian (Brooke), Brandon, Sarah (Curtis), Andy and Marianne: Great-grandchildren Lillie and Annabelle Becker; brother, William (Diana) Becker; extended family members, Jubilee, Festus and Chika. Preceded in death by parents Harry and Frieda Becker. Per his request, a celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Beaver Ridge United Methodist Church in Karns on Sunday, February 15, 2015. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Service will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens, Monday, at 3:00 pm.
