Tim was born on July 26, 1950, in Terre Haute, Indiana to Harriet “Babe” and Charlie Moyer. Born and raised a Hoosier, Tim moved to Tennessee in the 1970s and quickly fell in love with the place and the people, especially his wife, Donna.
Tim exuded quiet strength and fierce determination. He was the nicest guy in every room. He never saw an obstacle too large, and he defied the odds time after time. He was exceedingly kind, generous, and ever the eternal optimist. He loved music - especially the Beatles - sports, animals, reading, and spending time with his family. He taught us that five minutes early was ten minutes too late, a filet is the best cut of steak, nothing beats an ice-cold beer at the end of a long day, and kindness is contagious. His grace, courage, and perseverance will be remembered by all who knew him.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, brothers Mike and Bill, sisters-in-law Mary Byrne and Debra Rankin, and his favorite cat, Ben Stein.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ashlie and Matt Czyz, and Kathi and David Seger, sisters-in-law Linda Moyer and Jan Moyer, lifelong friend Brad Miller, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and four-legged friends.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Christopher Bowlin and Dr. Stephen Tonks, for treating Tim as if he were their own father, and never giving up on him despite all odds. We are forever grateful for their unwavering support, kindness, and care.
At Tim’s request, there will be no funeral service, but the family will honor his life with a celebration later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Young-Williams Animal Center or the National Kidney Foundation.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.berryfuneralhome.com for the Moyer family.
