

HINTON, Dr. TROY WALKER ¬age, 95, of Powell, Tennessee, beloved husband and father, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Troy was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church, Powell, Tennessee. Troy was born on November 1, 1925. He attended Karns Schools 1"- 12" grade. Upon high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Army He was in the 99 Infantry Division, US Army, Regiment 393, and Company H. Troy fought in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge, Ruhr Pocket, and Battle of Remagen. After returning home from the war, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Cloud. He attended the University of Tennessee where he received his B.S. and M.S. Degrees. He graduated from the University of Kentucky where he completed his PhD. Troy worked for the University of Tennessee, 1963 - 1989, Associate Dean of Agriculture Extension. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, fishing, and family gatherings. Troy loved the UT Vols. He was a season ticket holder of the Vols football and basketball since 1964. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Cloud Hinton; father and mother, Raymond and Bertha Hinton; son-in-law, Ronnie Arnold. Survivors include; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Judy Hinton; daughter, Kathy Arnold; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Gail Hinton; daughter and son-in-law, Troyann and Barry Burkhalter. Grandchildren; Criston Bishop, Alisha Hinton, Amanda Campbell, Katie Arnold, Allison Morris, Troy Arnold, Ashley Ownby, Randi Davison, Cole Burkhalter, Clint Burkhalter; great-grandchildren, Meredith Bishop, Kate Bishop, Eli Bishop, Clark Lawson, Emma Kate Lawson, Madi Morris, Laney Arnold, Harrison Arnold, Reid Ownby, Reagan Ownby, Emma Rae Davison, Ruthie Grace Davison, and Baby B. A special thank you to Maple Court / Truwood for the love and kindness displayed towards Papaw. The family is extremely grateful to all their employees. In lieu of flowers, donations in Troy's name can be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 7212 Central Avenue Pike, Powell Tennessee, 37849. There will be a call at convenience Wednesday at Weaver Funeral Home from 12:00-4:00 pm. Family only time will be from 4:00-5:00 pm.
