Vinson (Phil) May age 78 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Ft. Sanders Hospital. He will forever be loved and missed by his family. He spent fifty years in the grocery business and retired from Kroger Company with thirty plus years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Billie Jean May; parents, James and Alta May; sister, Pat Tankersley and brother, Michael May. He is survived by his sons, Phillip (Bonnie) May,, Johnny (Tara) May and Shane McCarter; daughter, Robin May; brother, Jeff (Debbie) May; grandchildren, Lindsey Hope, Miranda (Terry) Headrick, Hollie (Ray) Hillard, Shannon (Jacob) Higgins, Joey May, John May, Carolanne May, Jeremy McCarter and Emma McCarter; great-grandchildren, Grant, Hunter, Jackson, Raylie, Barron, Corbin, Teagan and Henry; great-great grandson, Justin.
