

Giffin, Wanda L. Pedigo, age 97 died on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Born in Knoxville Tennessee October 2, 2016 to James Lafayette and Jane Elizabeth Pedigo. Wanda graduated from Knoxville High School and after attending the University of Tennessee, she began her teaching career at age 19. She inspired students for many years at several Knox County elementary schools including Vestal, Moreland Heights and Galbraith. Wanda was a faithful member of her church, first at Island Home Baptist Church and ending with more than fifty years at Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Her strong faith and positive example was a testimony not only to her family, but also her friends and her community. She continued to serve well into her 90’s by mailing greeting cards to the homebound. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband William Andrew Giffin, daughter Sylvia Giffin, brother Rogers Pedigo, sisters, Cleo Fulton, Hazel Noe and Carrie Pedigo. She is survived by her children Ann and Bill, her daughter in law, Robyn, her grandchildren, Andrew Monson, Kristin Goldsby and Rebecca Reynolds, grandson in law, Dustin Goldsby, and great grandson Connor Goldsby. Wanda was cherished by all her nieces and nephews as well as many friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17th at Island Home Baptist Church, Rev. Steve Sexton officiating, and Rev. Charles McNutt assisting. Graveside service will be at 11: AM on Thursday, September 18th at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers include: John Cardwell, Mike Dillon, Bay Donahoo, Phil Duncan, Dustin Goldsby, Clifton Lowry, Andrew Monson, Jim Moore, Harry Watson, Steve Womble, and Brian Wood.
