Butch Hicks, age 67, of South Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 4, 2017 at UT Medical Center. He was a member of Redemption Harvest Church. He worked at South-Young High School for fifteen years. Butch was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Mary Hicks; sisters Pat and Lisa; and brother Rick. Butch is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years Sandy Hicks; sisters Nancy and Brenda; brothers Vern and Vondas; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Highway with the funeral service to follow at 8:00 pm, Rev. Tommy Bellamy and Rev. Rebecca Milligan officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday, September 8, 2017 for a 2:00 pm interment service.
