He was born at Fort Sanders hospital on January 19, 1951. His family relocated to Florida when he was a small child, and he lived there till 2014. He was employed by the city of Sunrise for 41 years where he retired as the Supervisor of Public works. He and his wife Jessie then relocated to Knoxville to be closer to family.

Survived by wife Jessie Juanita Hinton. Son William (Cathy) Hinton. Grandsons Christopher Phillips and Benjamin (Emily Merritt) Black
