William Boyd Rutherford, Jr., age 95 of Knoxville, passed away September 19, 2022. William was born in Knoxville, November 4, 1926. He retired from the U.S. Army and served in the Air National Guard. He also worked as a machinist at Y-12 plant. Preceded in death by father, William Boyd Rutherford, Sr. mother, Bessie Oglesby Rutherford; siblings, Stella, Helen, Lawrence, Alvin, Dortha, and Margaret. Survived by wife of 75 years, Betty Rutherford; daughter, Brenda Rutherford; sister, Betty Painter and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be October 1, 2022 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Berry Highland Memorial from 12:00 to 1:00 pm with the service to follow at 1:00 pm. Condolences are welcome at weaverfuneralservices.com
