Bette Loraine Helvie, 87, Kokomo, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Century Villa Healthcare in Greentown. She was born August 11, 1927, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Frank and Elma Edwards. On December 14, 1968, she married Gary Helvie in Las Vegas, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Ken (Debbie) Farrell, Kokomo; one daughter, Dana (Roger) Bowman, Tipton; grandchildren, Jason (Rachele) Rowe, Oklahoma, Donavon Richardson, Tipton, Jake Sinkovics, Mishawaka, Luke Sinkovics, Mishawaka, Miranda Sinkovics, Mishawaka, Misty, Kokomo, and Jamie Bowman, Kokomo; great-grandchildren, Emma Rowe, Oklahoma, Audri Rowe, Oklahoma, Julian Bowman, Kokomo, and Jackie Bowman, Kokomo; niece, Karen (Jesse) Smith, Tucson, Arizona; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-daughter, Maria Sinkovics; and sister, Francis Hardee.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Messages of condolences may be expressed online at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
