Betty Lou Mitchell, 86, Kokomo, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012, at her daughter’s home. She was born December 12, 1925, in Camden, to Charles H. and Laura B. (Amos) Dishon. On August 31, 1944, she married Dennis L. Mitchell, and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2010.
She had worked alongside her husband of his local Gravely Lawn and Garden Tractor dealership. She was an avid rummage sale shopper, known as the rummage sale queen, and was a very giving person.
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda C. (Jim) Holloway, Kokomo; three grandchildren, Sara N. Holloway, Kokomo, Scott A. (Christine) Holloway, Florida, and April M. Holloway Held, Florida; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa J. Held, Hunter D. Held, Logan P. Holloway, and Skyler V. Holloway; and lots of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Stahl officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with arrangements.
