She was born in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Tobias and Ruth Kaser on November 15, 1934. Beverly graduated from Alexandria High School in 1952 and then in 1955 she graduated as a registered nurse from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She married the late Charles E. Patterson on December 4, 1955, and they lived together in Indianapolis, before they moved to Carmel, Indiana. Beverly is survived by their four children: Lisa Patterson-Steiner (Carol Christopher), Susan Pellegrino (Stephen), Mark Patterson (Justin Schultz), and Amy Bond (Adam Geminden). She was a beloved grandmother to Daniel and Suzanne Steiner, Lindsey Ebner (Derek), Amanda Reaves, LH Bond, and Ethan Bond. Beverly was also a cherished great-grandmother to Augustus Licon-Steiner (Taylor), Mackenzie Titus (Tim), Weller and Weston Ebner, and Allan and Isaac Reaves. Great-great-grandmother to Adaline Titus and Lilith Steiner. She is also survived by her nephew, David Kaser. Beverly remarried in 1995 to Carl Dill. She was preceded in death by her husbands and her brother Richard Kaser of Kokomo, Indiana.
Beverly began her career at Methodist Hospital in the labor and delivery department. In 1975, after 20 years at the hospital, she left to go into private practice and assisted in opening up Carmel OB/GYN as the office nurse. Beverly returned to Methodist Hospital in 1985 as a Patient Care Manager until she retired in 1996. She “un-retired” 3 additional times between 1998 and 2009. After 52+ years in the medical profession, Beverly officially hung up her nurse’s cap at the young age of 76 to enjoy her grandchildren.
Beverly was a person of faith and she lived it her whole life. When her children were little, she taught Sunday school at Eagledale Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and sung in the East 91st Street Christian Church. And then later sang with Noblesville Methodist Church’s choir. Beverly even had the opportunity to sing in the Billy Graham choir with her daughters, when it was in town. Before Beverly moved to Dallas, Texas in 2021, she was affiliated with Grace Church of Noblesville where she volunteered.
In her free time, Beverly enjoyed gardening, reading, volunteering, and traveling. She enjoyed estate sales and seeing what treasures she could find. These hobbies brought her joy and allowed her to explore her love for learning, nature, and giving back to the community.
Beverly’s children held a private family service on January 5, 2024 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Kokomo, Indiana. The family will be holding a celebration of life on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 12-4 pm at Mustard Seed Gardens, Noblesville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beverly J. Patterson Go Fund Me page which goes to scholarships for those headed into the medical profession to become a Registered Nurse.
Beverly leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.
