He was a graduate of Kokomo High School. He later went on to work for Chrysler until his retirement, closing a long chapter of dependable work with the satisfaction of having done it faithfully and well.
Outside of work, Burley found happiness in the outdoors and in the calm pleasures of time well spent. He had a passion for fishing, always referring to it as "being in his office". He enjoyed hunting, doing crafts, gardening, and reading a good book.
He is survived by his children, Shawn Adams (Heather), Heather Turner (Dan), Ryan Adams (Michelle), and Wade Adams; his siblings, Johnny Adams (Carol), Phyllis Ashby (Woody), and Wanda Ward. As well as his loving caretaker, Diane “Pinky” Compton and her family. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents Burley is preceded in death by his grandson, Burley Guage Adams; and his brothers, Valters Adams Jr. and James Adams (Sandra).
A Committal Service will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, Chapel of Peace, 2097 W Alto Rd, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, on May 29, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
