Carl T Johnson

Carl T. Johnson, age 88, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. He was born June 18, 1935 in Munising Michigan to Charles and Lillian (Humphery) Johnson. He attended high school in upper peninsula Michigan and upon graduation, enlisted in the Navy. He served on the USS Shangri La during the Korean war and received an honorable discharge. After serving in the Navy, he married Barbara Johnson, and they had 3 sons. He worked for Chrysler, retiring in 1993, after 30 years. Carl enjoyed his time with work friends (outside of work), fishing, and NASCAR racing (Jeff Gordon was his favorite). He loved his grandkids and great-granddaughter dearly. He is survived by sons, Alan (Terry) Johnson and Dane Johnson; grandchildren, Lauren Johnson, Ashlynn Johnson, and Alana Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Teagan Devenport. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, wife, Barbara, and son, Carl Jr. There will be a memorial gathering for Carl on Monday, April 15, 2024 at Sunset Memory Garden, 2097 W.
