Charles Edward Clark, 84, a lifetime resident of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, surrounded by so many of his children and grandchildren. He was born on Saturday, August 27, 1938, to the late Gilbert and Jane (Cox) Clark.
Charles… Charlie… Chuck, he didn't seem to have a preference on what he was called. He was a major sports fan, always keeping up with IU basketball and Notre Dame football. He worked many years at Delco before his retirement, was a member of the UAW Local #292, and attended the Salvation Army Church.
Charles enjoyed listening to Patsy Cline, watching old westerns, and doing yard work. He had a surplus of old weed-whackers, pressure washers, and lawn mowers, though most didn't even work anymore. He was a true family man. He loved getting together for the holidays, especially Christmas Eve, as he would always have the movie “The Christmas Story” playing on the 24-hour special. He especially loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and the love of his life, Nancy, whether it be at the movies, ballgames, family get-togethers, or hanging around his pool.
Charles is survived by his children Chuck Clark, Shelly Coram, Mickey (Liz) Lake, Regina Bousum, and Jason (Shannon) Clark; grandchildren Diana Davis, Dezra Bennett, Shyla (Corey) Hensley, Haley (Bryce) Corn, Hunter (Chelsi) Clark, Taylor (Jordan Fivecoate) Coram, Brittany (Cody Lillie) Lake, Drew Coram, Evan Lake, and Harrison Clark; great grandchildren Evelyn, Sophie, Bryson, Naylee, Gunner, Emmit, Colt, JC, Jemma, Truett, and Xavier; he also leaves behind one brother Robert (Pat) Clark and two sibling in-laws William “Billy” Childs and Shirley Clark.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife Nancy Clark in 2014; sisters Betty Thompson, Jane Ann Bitner, Hannah Childs, Mary Clark; and brother Sonny Clark.
A visitation for Charles will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
