Clarence W Gilbert

Clarence W. Gilbert passed away peacefully on October 23, 2022 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis with family at his side. He was born to Ernest Preston and Cleda Irene (McFall) Gilbert on May 30, 1939.

A lifelong resident of Kokomo, Indiana, he worked at Continental Steele, and later, Kokomo City Schools. In May 1981, he married his best friend Gerri (Hutchinson) Gilbert and together they enjoyed buying and selling antiques, including at weekend shows and local consignment spots. They had a lake home on Lake Shafer (Golden Beach Club) where family and friends gathered for water fun, boat rides and fishing. Clarence loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and never found a vehicle he couldn't fix or rebuild. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to get together.

Surviving to celebrate his life are his children Kelly, Brett, Brian and Kim and step-son Albert, 12 grandchildren and step-children, 8 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way, a brother Richard, sister Phyllis Burnett and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gerri (August 13, 2019) and brothers Alford, Tom, Kenny and Bobby Gilbert and sister Mabel Chapman.

Services with be held Friday, October 28, 10am at Sunset Memory Garden funeral home 2097 West Alto Road with Pastor Paul Sutherland officiating. Visitation is Thursday October 27 from 4-7pm at the same location.
