Daniel “Danny” Joe Deeter, 87, of Kokomo, Indiana, went home to the Lord on March 21, 2026. He was born March 11, 1939, in Logansport, Indiana. Danny will be remembered as an adventurous, devoted, and faithful man whose steady presence and quiet strength shaped the lives of those who knew him.
Danny proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. He later worked at Chrysler as an inspector, where his dedication and reliability were evident throughout a 34-year career before his retirement.
A devoted family man, Danny cherished time spent with loved ones and the simple traditions that became lasting memories. He went to breakfast every Tuesday with his granddaughter Andrea and Fridays were spent with his granddaughter Carrie. A routine that they will cherish forever.
Danny’s adventurous spirit showed in the things he enjoyed most—hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially treasured Saturdays spent shooting guns with his son, Terry. Known as someone who could build anything, Danny took pride in working with his hands and was actively building a train set. At home, he delighted in feeding squirrels out of his hand, especially his favorite squirrel, George. He spent countless weekends playing euchre with Kenny and Mylinda.
He loved his granddaughter, Jennifer for being so loving. He was so proud of his grandsons, Darrick and Matt for becoming police officers. He was also very thankful that his granddaughter, Danielle, helped take care of his beloved dog, Skeeter.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Deeter; his mother, Jean Mitchell; his son, Rickey Deeter; his brothers, Jim Deeter and Butch Deeter; and his sister, Cindy Deeter.
He is survived by his son, Terry Deeter (Mitzi Smith); his daughter, Mylinda Wright (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Carrie Smith (Josh), Jennifer Brower (Matt), Danielle Wright, Andrea Wright-Hughes (Sam), Ashley Jung (Patrick), Matthew Deeter (Kasey), and Darrick Deeter (Layke); his great-grandchildren, Caitlynn Martin (Kolby), Caleb Hernandez (Cora), Miah Brower, Christian Wright, Oliver Jung, Braxton Deeter, Annabelle Deeter, Weston Deeter, Abbott Deeter, and Walton Deeter; his great-great-grandchildren, Makenna Martin and Mattie Anne Martin; his brother, David Deeter (Donna); his daughter-in-law, Jennette Deeter; and last but not least his tubby dog, Skeeter Deeter.
