

Dan was born on January 19th, 1948 in Conran, Missouri to his parents James "Carl" and Genevieve (Jeffries) Vandiver.
Dan married Naomi Gannon on March 3rd, 1984 in Kokomo, Indiana
He is survived by his wife of nearly 34 years Naomi, sister Judy K. (Dave) Ramsey, brother Greg (Betty) Vandiver, step-daughter Tammy Brooks, three granddaughters Shelby Carpenter, Sierra Carpenter, Cheyenne Brooks, one great granddaughter Sofia Sue Sanchez, two nephews Bryan and Drew Ramsey, two nieces Elizabeth Green and Savanna Moore. He is also survived by six great nieces and nephews, and many loving cousins.
Dan graduated from Fairmount High School, class of 1966. He served our nation proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from service he began his career with General Motors and retired after 30 years of "dedicated" service. He enjoyed being outdoors, vegetable gardening, riding his golf cart. His greatest passion in life was spending time with his loving family and friends, especially the family reunions. Dan and Naomi enjoyed everyday together, relaxing at their humble abode.
He was preceded in death by his parents James "Carl" and Genevieve, and special aunt Martha Ray Taylor.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital with envelopes available at the mortuary.
Services will be Thursday March 8th, 2018 at 1:00pm with visitation one hour prior and Wednesday March 7th, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm with Pastor Steve Branstutter officiating all at Ellers Mortuary, Webster Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Sharpsville Cemetery.
