David Lawrence Russell

David L. Russell died on March 12, 2020, in Kokomo, Indiana. He was born on June 4, 1957, in Kokomo to Lawrence (Rae) Russell and Rose M. (Hartman) Russell. A National Merit Scholarship finalist, David graduated from Haworth High School in Kokomo. He then attended Purdue University where he earned an undergraduate degree in computer science and a Masters in Management. He spent most of his career as an IT contractor for the federal government while living in northern Virginia. David was married to Pamela Fulmer from 1988 to 2000, and they remained friends after their divorce. David had a generous heart and quick wit and always responded affirmatively to a request for help. His greatest joy was cooking for his family and friends who eagerly awaited his next feast, smoked turkey, and fruit pie. He enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects, working on his own home and helping others with their projects. David was an avid Purdue football fan and attended the Indianapolis 500 every year with college buddies. He also enjoyed biking and twice did the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). David was predeceased by his parents and faithful dogs, Murphy and Molly. He is survived and missed by his two sisters, Ann M. Russell of northern California and Melanie Russell of northern Virginia.
