

Delores M. (Stephens) Frazier, 89, Kokomo, passed away on September 11, 2014. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. “Rusty” Frazier. Their wedding date was June 22, 1947, and they were happily married for 56 years until Rusty’s passing in 2003.
Delores was born on August 6, 1925, in Mellott, Ind., the daughter of Harry L. and Ada P. (Sowers) Stephens. She graduated from Richland Township High School in 1943. Delores and Rusty developed a relationship while writing each other during World War II.
One of the first jobs that Delores held was in the Art Department at R. R. Donnelly’s in Crawfordsville, Ind. She had a real passion for art and was an accomplished artist using oils, water colors and chalk. Her portraits and landscapes are in the homes of family and friends throughout the country.
She worked for many years in a variety of roles at the Christian Bible House in Kokomo.
Delores was a member of Judson Road Christian Church in Kokomo where she and Rusty were involved in numerous church ministries. One of their favorite activities was for Rusty to read a biblical story or passage while Delores produced a chalk drawing illustrating the story.
Delores and Rusty were avid travelers and were blessed to have many years together traveling. Their favorite vacations included the Scotland, Trinidad, many trips to the Smokies and doing genealogical research at various sites around the country. Delores and her daughter, Kim, also enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Florida.
Delores loved her family, and she is survived by one son, Greg and wife Donna, Westfield, Ind.; one daughter, Kim, Kokomo; two grandchildren, Melissa and husband Chris, Bellevue, Ky. and Eric, Boulder, Colo. She also loved animals especially her recent “grand-dogs”, Reggie and Fergus. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wayne.
Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, at Sunset Memory Garden in Kokomo.
