

Deloris Janet Williams 82, joined Heaven’s choir March 21, 2016 at Wellington Place in Kokomo. She was born July 12, 1933 in Kokomo to Lavon and Helen (Pickett) Fipps. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1951 and was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.
Deloris worked at the Kokomo Tribune and S & H Green Stamp Store before retiring from Area 5 Council on Aging, where she was a site director for meals. For many years she was active in Cub Scouts serving as a Den Mother. She also served as a Team Mother for her sons’ Little League teams. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, Kokomo Civic Theater, taking walks in her neighborhood and conversing with neighbors. She inherited a love for music and dance from her mother. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed being with them whenever possible.
Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Richard Fipps and Bill Jones, and former husbands Richard Weed and Alton Williams. Survivors include four sons; Rick (Lou Ann) Weed, Jeffrey (Kim) Weed, Scott (Lisa) Weed, Mark Williams, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Sunset Memory Gardens. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday March 28 at the funeral home.
