Elizabeth A. Morphew

Elizabeth A. Morphew (Montel) passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 in North Manchester, Indiana at the age of 95. Born in Silver Lake, Indiana on December 2, 1930 to Frank and Mary (Burger) Montel, she married Noble D. Morphew on June 1, 1952 in Walloon Lake, Michigan and he has preceded her in death along with infant son Ryan Douglas. Also preceding her in death are siblings Beulah Morphew, Edward Montel, Ernest Montel, Marjorie Morgan, Walter Montel, Charles Montel, and Mary Maxine Montel.

She is lovingly remembered by children Tim Morphew (Beth Sollenberger), Joe Morphew (Cheryl), John Morphew (Sharon), and Nancy Gwin (Marv), nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Creighton and brother Frank Montel, Jr. (Sondra).

Elizabeth graduated from Petoskey High School in Michigan in 1949. She held many positions in Howard County government as well as the City of Kokomo. She retired as a data clerk from the City's Controller's Office in 1998. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, needlepoint, reading, puzzles, and board games. She was very active in her church and served in various roles at the Kokomo Church of the Brethren.

We are grateful to the nurses and staff at Timbercrest and Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving care they provided.

There will be a time of visitation for Elizabeth on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary Webster Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Mark Stahl will be officiating. Burial will follow to Albright Cemetery.
