with his Heavenly Father. He was no doubt happily greeted by numerous friends and
family members who have gone before.
George was born on February 4, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana to George Peterson and
Mable (Bowles) Peterson. He moved to Kokomo in 1957 with his family. He journeyed
through life with a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He was best known for
that smile and his bib overalls. One of the highlights of his life was seeing “Mousetrap”
in London at St Martin’s Theatre while proudly wearing those same overalls with a
sport jacket. The Brits he met during his trip welcomed him and his smile with open
arms as if he was one of their own. George graduated from Tri Central High School. He was an avid slot car enthusiast and occasionally vacationed in Door County, Wisconsin which was his “heaven on earth”.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation.
George is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Anthony) Brandl, grandchildren including
Victoria Cropper; Jason Best; Christopher Best; Chelsea Brandl and Damian Brandl,
sister, Suzanne (Tim) Wilcox, multiple nieces and nephews, Brenda Savoy (former wife)
and dear friend, Dixie Eaton; Dawn and Shirley Ulerick. He was preceded in death by his
parents and sister, Peggy Percifield.
George will be cremated and laid to rest alongside his parents. A memorial service will
take place on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 6pm, with visitation also on Friday, from 5:00 PM until 6:00PM, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, IN. Pastor Terry Russell will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society.
