Gregory Max Stearns

Gregory Stearns, age 59, of Logansport, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2018. Greg was born on August 16, 1958 in Kokomo, Indiana to Kathy Stearns and the late Keith Stearns. Greg graduated from Western High School with the class of 1976. Following high school, Greg worked by helping with his father’s business, Stearns Moving and Storage. He eventually took an interest in farming, and spent some time working at a farm in Albany, Kentucky, until he moved into his own farm in Logansport, Indiana. At his farm, Greg raised livestock and gardened vegetables. After his father passed away, Greg also owned and operated Stearns Mini Warehouses in Kokomo. Greg attended First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association and enjoyed taking fishing trips in Wisconsin. He was an avid collector and trader of baseball cards, and liked following the Cincinnati Reds and Green Bay Packers. In addition to his mother, Kathy, Greg is survived by his sister, Jamie Stearns; cousins, Mike (Melinda) Guinn, Jim (Tyra) Guinn, and Pam (Brent) Wolfcale; and aunts, Monrie Guinn, Estelle Gross, Kate Dowell, and Ramelle Cole. In addition to his father, Keith, Greg was preceded in death by an uncle, James Ferguson. There will be a public visitation for Greg held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 20th from 11-1, with a funeral service immediately following. Greg will then be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Greg’s family would like to acknowledge the staff members of Heart and Soul Caring and St. Vincent’s Hospice for the special care that they gave to Greg.
