James Robert Lahr

James Robert Lahr, age 76, of Logansport, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. James was born November 30, 1945 to Alvin Sr. and Rosemary (Correll) Lahr in Chicago, IL. James married Nancy (McBee) Lahr on January 26, 1979, who survives.

James is a retiree of General Motors and was a member of the UAW Local 292. He was a boxing coach of the Kokomo Fire Dragons for several years. In addition, he helped with the Indiana Golden Gloves, with his wife, as a judge. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his wife, children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Sr. and Rosemary, his brother Alvin Jr., and sisters Joyce Beatty, Theresa Smith and Ghimel Gabriel.

James is survived by his wife, Nancy; his daughters Alethea (Tim) Miller, and Molly (Richard) LeClerc; his grandchildren; Mercedes Lahr, Carrie (Josh) Rogers, Clayton Phillabaum, Ali (Zac) Warden, Corbin Phillabaum, Sebastian (Trinah Young) Shumaker, Jillian Shumaker, Carter Phillabaum, Felicia LeClerc, Vivian LeClerc and Xander LeClerc; his great-grandchildren: Lucas, Jasmine, Bexley, Zayden, James, Dean, Taliah, Jude, Aria, Zella and Whyatt; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Monday, July 25, from 4-7pm, with service immediately following at 7pm, at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster St.
