A graduate of Kokomo High School class of 1967, John went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Eastern Mediterranean History from Indiana University, Bloomington. Most of John’s professional career was in real estate, and most recently in the payroll department at Walmart in Kokomo.
John had many interests and hobbies including Indiana, Howard County and Kokomo history, collecting and refurbishing antiques, and heirloom gardening including vegetables, fruit trees and rose bushes. He was also an avid reader and chess player.
John is survived by his brother Bob Monroe and his wife Julia of Colorado Springs, CO. The services will be held privately at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
