

Kathy Marlene Spencer, 67, went home to be with the Lord on June 24th, 2018. She was born to W. Chester and Betty M. (Calveard) Spencer on September 4th, 1950 in Kokomo. Kathy was one of the very first clients of the Bona Vista Program, as her parents co-founded it in 1959.
Kathy attended New Life Assembly of God. She loved to play bingo and any kind of card game with her mom. She loved to listen to Elvis, Tom Jones, Bobby Vinton, and anything slow. Some of her favorite TV shows were Golden Girls, Andy Griffith, and The Three Stooges. Kathy was very involved in the Special Olympics, participating in bowling, long-jump, and 400 Meter walk. Kathy was a cheerleader for everyone playing alongside her. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Kathy is survived by her sisters, Rita (Will) Thompson and Diana Hipps; niece Lori (Brian) Tucker; nephews Ryan (Mandy) Hipps, Steve Hipps, and Andrew (Jackie) Hipps; several great-nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
Kathy is preceded in passing by her parents.
Friends and family may call from 9AM to 11AM on Monday, July 2nd at New Life Assembly of God, 1803 E. Vaile Ave. Kokomo, Indiana 46901. A funeral service will follow at 11AM, with Pastor Randy Blankenship officiating. Kathy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to the Special Olympics at give.specialolympics.com.
