

Keith Charles Swavey, age 87, of Kokomo, Indiana went to meet his Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Keith was born January 15,1938 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Norman P. Swavey and Lucille (Linde) Swavey. He attended Randolph East Mead High School in Guys Mills, PA. Keith went on to join the United States Air Force and became Air Force Security Patrol. During his tenure in the Air Force, he served one year in England, at High Wycombe AFB and one year in Spain. While serving in the US, he was stationed at various other places, such as the Air Force Academy in Denver, Colorado, Florida, and Grissom AFB in Peru, Indiana. Keith retired from Delco Electronics / General Motors in 1997. Keith's main love was his family and hobbies such as wood working, having built several pieces of furniture for the home and other family members; fishing, locally in local reservoirs and lakes, and throughout Indiana, Minnesota and Tennessee. He also loved to travel and spent time in Florida, Alabama, Texas, Arizona and Tennessee. Many of those trips included his children and/or grandchildren. For several years, he and friends would take trips to Minnesota for one week of fishing. In addition, he was a willing and able mechanic, helping his children and grandchildren to keep their vehicles running.
On June 26, 1971, Keith married the love of his life, Patricia (Hayes) Swavey, and her children, Alisa (Hayes) Brenotas, Robin Rene Hayes, Todd Hayes, and Paula (Hayes) Bolin, all of Kokomo. Keith had two children, Keith C. Swavey, Jr. of Wabash, IN and Candy (Swavey) Boonstra, who preceded him in death, as well as his parents, Norman and Lucille. This began a journey of 54 years of marriage, adventure and experiences. Keith is survived by his wife, Patricia; brother, Gary Swavey of Meadville, PA; fourteen grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Keith will be Thursday, July 17, at 2:00 PM, at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo. Friends may visit from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral. Military honors will occur at Albright Cemetery, 3910 Albright Road, Kokomo, IN 46902, after the funeral service, prior to burial.
