

Kenneth E. Hopson, Sr., 59, Kokomo, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at his home. He was born June 3, 1954, in Luttrell, Tennessee, to Thomas Lee and Evelyn (Wade) Hopson. On June 30, 1973, he married Cherri Lynn Elliott, and she survives.
He had worked at Schilli National Lease as a diesel mechanic, at Good Year, at Walker Trucking, and had a paper route for the Kokomo Tribune. He was a member of John Sevier Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee. Kenneth and the family had a wonderful vacation in Tennessee in May visiting with family and friends. Just last Saturday, Kenneth had a great time at the family reunion and got to visit with many family and friends in Kokomo. Kenneth was a beloved husband, father, and a friend to all.
In addition to his wife, Cherri Hopson, he is survived by one son, Kenneth Hopson, Jr.; one daughter, Angela Hopson; one brother, James Hopson; one sister, Kathy Estep; sisters-in-law, Patty Jackson and Stella Arredondo; brothers-in-law, Tony Arredondo, David Arredondo, and Louis Arredondo; special cousin, Sharon Rust-Birl; cousins, Jerry Wade, Bobby Wade, Kyle Wade, Martin Wade, and Arlene Wade; nephew, Jimmy Jackson; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Lee Hopson; and sister, Laney Beeler.
The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and helpfulness during this difficult time of loss of our husband and dad.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Ron DeGraaff officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
