MaKenzie Nicole Stepler was born on June 15, 1990 in Stuttgart, Germany and entered into eternal rest on November 13,2023 in Kokomo, Indiana. She graduated from Tipton High School in 2009 and had been accepted to Ivy Tech in Kokomo where she had planned to attend and graduate with a degree as a Veterinary Technician. A lover of all animals large and small, she had a soft spot for those who were lost or abandoned, especially cats and dogs. Kenzie was very creative and had a keen interest in tie-dye, art and music. She loved to draw and you would often find her listening to the Grateful Dead. Her daughter Naomi was the love of her life. They spent many hours doing crafts, tie-dying tee shirts, painting, reading stories, taking walks, and baking cookies. MaKenzie was a friend to all and would gladly offer others a helping hand without expecting anything in return. She was a free spirit with a loving soul, a consummate modern-day hippy who was loved by all.
MaKenzie is preceded in death by her sister, Sophie Stipes and her grandparents John and Bonnie Stepler. She is survived by her daughter, Naomi Price; her mother, Kimberly Shrock; father and step-mother, John M. Stepler II (Sandra); siblings, Shandi Burke (William), Johnna Stepler (JD), Max Stepler, Kolton Stipes, Gabby Stipes, Allison Stipes, Jimmy Tune (Destinee), and Jared Tune; aunts, Kelly Stepler, Rhonda Epp, Stacy Tucker, and Celeste Tomaszycki (Al); as well as, many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, with family receiving friends from noon to 3PM with a service immediately beginning at 3PM.
