

Margaret "Peg" Hendrix Urbina, 77, Kokomo, passed away on Friday, October 08, 2010, at Howard Regional Health System. She was born November 6, 1932, in Kokomo, to Jay Harold and Catherine B. (Littler) Hendrix.
She worked at Stellite/Haynes International for 46 years before retiring. Margaret had a good sense of humor and a good heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She loved animals, reading, crocheting, art, music, dancing, and most of all, her children and grandchildren. She was an avid athlete and had been a softball coach at the YWCA and a life guard. She had also served as both a Girl Scout and Boy Scout leader. One of her dreams had always been to travel to Las Vegas.
She is survived by three sons, Paul A. (Janice) Hendrix, Ronald (Lisa) Hendrix, and Juan Urbina; three daughters, Deborah M. Meals, Robin Hendrix, and Margaret Hendrix; ten grandchildren, Shawn Meals, Mica Hendrix, Mary Hendrix, Deunna Hendrix, Gretchen Hendrix, Wesley Hendrix, Nicole Hendrix, Robert Hendrix, McKenzie Urbina, and Chance Urbina; one great-grandchild, Matthew Cass; one brother, Tom (Pat) Hendrix; and three sisters, Wilma Dohner, Betty Hubert, and Carolyn (Claude) Myers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Perry Hendrix and Barry Hendrix; and one daughter, Mary Rose Urbina.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Hurlocker officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be made at www.sunsetmemorygarden.com.
