October 11, 1940-June 1, 2012
At 1:10 p.m., at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Mom went to be with her Lord and Savior. Born October 11, 1940, she was the daughter of Jay Wendell Young and Orpha (Avery) Young. She was the oldest of three daughters.
She attended Kokomo High School. She was married to Max Murphy for 18 years, and they had three children. In 1977, she met the love of her life and life companion, Frank Stone. They were together 35 years, and he survives. She worked for 32 years at St. Joseph Hospital, retiring due to her illness. Mom was an inspiration to everybody she met. If you were in her circle, you had a friend for life. She especially loved her kids, her grandkids, and her great-grandkids. She will be sadly missed by everybody who knew her. She loved to go to garage sales and thrift stores and adored her little boy, Sparky, her pet.
She is survived by her three children, Melvin and wife Kim Murphy, Russiaville, Marcea Murphy (Carter) and companion John, Kokomo, and Brad Murphy and companion Susan, Kokomo; her loving companion, Frank Stone; two sisters, Janet Wood, Kokomo, and Tanya Barnett, Brazil; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her very special friends, Jane and Phyllis; and her little boy, Sparky.
She will be loved and missed by all her kids, family, and friends.
