

Neil R. Puterbaugh, 78, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:15 PM Wednesday April 12, 2017 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis. Born June 3, 1938 in Peru, Indiana he was the son of the late Harvey Puterbaugh and Dorothy Pauline (Shanks) Puterbaugh. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1959-1963. He was employed with Chrysler as a jobsetter, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #685 and lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed watching NASCAR; was a Cubs, Bears, and Colts fan. He liked listening to the news and was known as “Bro” and “the Cuz”.
He was survived by his children Neil Jr., Whitney, Kirk, Rebecca, and Jennifer; also his brother Nelson Puterbaugh of San Bernardino, California; his sister Karen Kay (Robert) Rhodes of Kokomo; his lifetime companion Eunice Puterbaugh of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren Abigail, Michael, Mikayla, Caryanne, Joey, Josh, Rachel, Noah, Leah, Cody, and Jacob and a host of family and friends.
Neil was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Dale Puterbaugh, two infant brothers, one nephew Kristopher Puterbaugh, and one sister-in-law Alice Puterbaugh.
Graveside services and military rites will be conducted by Pastors Jeff Newton and Jonathon Newton; also by the United States Marine Corps and the Kokomo Military Rites Team at 1:30 PM Saturday April 15, 2017 at Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo.
