

Opal Blanch Wyrick, 70, of Forest, Indiana, passed away at 7:50 PM, Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her residence. Born June 9, 1946 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Jake O’Blenis and Evelyn (Meyers) O’Blenis. She was a 1965 graduate of Kokomo High School. On October 2, 1965 in Kokomo, she married James William Wyrick, and he survives. She was a retired rural postal carrier for the Forest and Russiaville Post Offices. She was a past president and volunteer at the Russiaville EMT/Ambulance service. She was a member of the Russiaville Eastern Star and West Point Christian Church. She enjoyed knitting and sewing; also doing crafts for her grandkids. She enjoyed doing photo scrapbooks for all her grandchildren and family. She was also a collector of Coke memorabilia.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, James William Wyrick of Forest; two sons Jay William (Andrea) Wyrick of Kokomo, Jesse Andrew (Tracy) Wyrick of Forest; one daughter Jeanne Lynn (Brian) Bradley of Forest; one sister Nancy (Jim) Davis of Cutler. There are also nine grandchildren Allie, A.J., Jacob, Caitlyn, Victoria, Alexandra, Rachel, Mitchell, Ethan; and one great grandchild Liam.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday February 5, 2017 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. Pastor Darren Miracle will officiate. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 PM Sunday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to Guardian Angel Hospice, with envelopes available at the mortuary.
