Rebecca "Becky" S. Boring

She graduated from International Business College of Ft. Wayne in 1967 where she earned a degree in bookkeeping. She married Joseph Smallwood in 1967. That 15 year union produced two children, Todd and Kristi. In 1984, she married the love of her life, David R. Boring, and her family grew by leaps and bounds. Becky worked briefly as a secretary for Chrystal Corporation and worked at Kokomo Lumber for several years. The last 19 years, she worked for Key Bank as a teller.

Becky was very active in Howard County Extension Homemakers where she served as President, Treasurer and Secretary. She was a member of the Local Extension 23 Club for 28 years and held several offices during that time as well. She was also a member of a euchre club for 28 years.

Becky is survived by her mother and her brother, Jerry (Cindy) Norris, all of Larwill; a brother, David; her children, Todd Smallwood, Kristi (Joe) Scheiman, and Nancy (Bud) Newell, all of Kokomo, Sherry Manley, California, and David (Marci) Boring II, of Peru; her three grandsons, the “apples of her eye”, Zackary Smallwood, and Connor and Cole Scheiman, all of Kokomo; in addition, from her marriage to Dave, 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; father; a son, Gary Boring; a daughter, Kris Boring; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Becky was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She will be missed tremendously.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Books for Kids. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
