

Robert “Bob” Eugene Carter, 80, Kokomo, passed away at 9:56 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. He was born December 11, 1934, in New Castle, to Robert and Opal Carter. On November 26, 1960, he married Flois Ann (Albertson) Carter, and she survives.
Bob worked at the Chrysler Transmission Plant for 30 years before retiring in 1986. He enjoyed collecting guns, attending church, and listening to gospel music. He was a member of UAW Local 685 and attended Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lori (Greg) Ellis, Kokomo, and Judy Jewell, Denver; three sons, John Carter, Muncie, Robert (Jeri) Carter, Peru, and Alan (Dawn) Carter, Kokomo; step-children, Rosemary (Joe) Lowhorn, Kentucky, Fred (Sarah) Morgan, Kokomo, and Bill Morgan, New Castle; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, two step-sons, and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Meiring officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
