Rosemary Heide Bailey, 78, passed away on April 13, 2026, after suffering from a stroke in October 2023. Born on August 30, 1947, in Fürth, Germany, she was an only child, to Betti Lotter and Charles Blades. Raised by her grandmother and mother after her father passed in a car accident, Rosie lived in Germany until she married at 17 and came to America, where she eventually became a naturalized citizen in 1976.
She lived a life defined by compassion, resilience, and quiet strength. She always showed importance of family and the beauty of simple moments. Rosie loved to spend time with her grandkids. During the summertime she would have them all over for a couple weeks at a time and take them to Indiana Beach, the Pool, and around town. She loved to cook for family and friends and decorate for the holidays. She enjoyed trips to Vegas with her girlfriends and cross-country motorcycle trips with her partner, Dean Suma (deceased), and snowmobile rides. Rosie loved horses and at one point had a few in the backyard. Jackson was her canine companion who she loved dearly.
She retired from Delco after 35 years where she met several of her lifelong friends. Later into retirement she also worked at Walmart.
Survivors include her two sons, Dennis (Michelle) and Steven (Lisa); six grandchildren, Brittany (Roy), Andrew (MaryBeth), Maddalynn (Joseph), Daniel (Hannah), Camille (Brandon), Shelby (Shane); ten great grandkids, Ethan, Kylie, Micaela, Kaleah, Andrew, David, Kassity, Liam, Ella, Paisley.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Funeral service for Rosemary will be 11:00am on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd. Kokomo. Friends may visit from 10:00am until the time of service. Rosemary will be laid to rest immediately following her funeral service in the Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
