Rosemary Wilson

Rosemary Wilson, 88, Kokomo, passed at 11:08 AM Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at her home. Rosemary was born on May 28, 1931 in Kokomo, IN to the late Howard Gilbert and Lewella (Adler) Gilbert. She was a 1949 graduate of Kokomo High School. Rosemary married Glenn Eugene Wilson on August 12th, 1955 at Union St. Friends Church. They were first introduced on a blind date by their dear friends the McElfreshes. Glenn preceded her in death on February 3, 2018. Rosemary was a homemaker and later worked in the cafeteria at Ervin Elementary and at Northwestern High School cafeteria. She attended First Friends Church; enjoyed playing cards, especially euchre, traveling to Florida with Glenn and family, but her passion was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children Brian (Kim) Wilson Sr. and Brenda King (John Snook), grandchildren Steph (Audley) Chastain, Brian (Amy) Wilson II, Laura Timmons, Amanda (Steve) Smith, and Kara DeFabritis (John Stahl). Rosemary is also survived by one brother Mike Gilbert and one sister Alice Cassell; her great grandchildren Dakota and Jackson Chastain, Nevaeh, Aniyah, and Zairemy Willits, Haleigh and Cameron Perkins, Asa Chastain, and several nieces and nephews. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Lewella Gilbert, Step-mother Martha Gilbert; sisters Betty Fletcher, Marge Eller and Helen Bailey; brother Bob Gilbert and step-brother George Rothwell. She was also preceded by her great granddaughter Madison Wilson-Perkins. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 22, 2019 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo with Pastor Jonathan Newton officiating. Entombent will follow at Sunset Memory Garden. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association with envelopes available at the mortuary.
