Sharon D Young

The family of Sharon D. Young announces her passing on April 4, 2023, at the age of 82. She was born in Kokomo on Aug. 22, 1940, to Frank and Betty Smith. She married Harold Young, and was married 51 years until his passing.

Sharon was a 1958 graduate of Northwestern High School. She was a member of the Sewing Guild, Quilting Guild and the Indiana State Coin Association. She loved birds, traveling, quilting, embroidery and her dog Molly. She attended Morning Star Church. She was a dental assistant and office manager before owning the Key Coin Shop.

Sharon is survived by her son, Brian Young; daughter, Paula Taskey; grandchildren, Jonathon and Jessica Young and Shana and Mitchell Taskey; great-grandchildren, Ryelle Hindman, Raylin Taskey and Eli Young.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Betty; husband, Harold; great-granddaughter, Shyanna Taskey; and son-in-law, Philip Taskey.

Funeral services for Sharon will be Monday, April 10, 2023, 1 p.m., with visitation beginning 11 a.m. at Ellers Mortuary, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo. Burial will immediately follow.
