Stephen "Butch" W. Moore

Stephen “Butch” Moore, 61, Tipton, passed away October 8, 2013. Steve was born in Jellico, TN, July 30, 1952, to the late Earl Sr. and Wilsie Jo Moore. On July 6, 1970, he married Vonda (Shears) Moore in Jellico, TN.

He graduated from La Follette High School in 1970, moved to Kokomo later that year and lived in the area the remainder of his life. He retired in 2011 from Chrysler after 40 years.

The family would like to thank Dr. Moore in oncology, Dr. Price in radiology, and Guardian Angel Hospice for the excellent care given to Steve during his illness.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Vonda; two sons, Kevin (Julie) of Marshall, IL and Jason (Jenifer) of Yorktown; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl (Mary) Moore of Kokomo, Wallace (Linda) Moore of La Follette, TN, and Terry Moore of La Follette, TN; uncle, Billy “Pete” (Barbara) Daugherty of Campbellsville, KY; in-laws, Nathan and Eloise Shears McCullah, of La Follette, TN; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in every state from Michigan to Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Wilsie Jo (Daugherty) Moore.

A funeral service will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, at 11:00am, Saturday, October 12, 2013. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home between 5:00pm and 9:00pm, Friday, October 11, 2013.
