Steven A. Weikle

Steve was the protector of the family, always offering a helping hand and keeping a level head in any situation. He was a mentor to many, especially the kids that he coached. Steve was active in local youth sports for many years. He worked for Gerber Plumbing fixtures and then eventually went on to work for Haynes International. He worked as a manager for Haynes while also teaching business classes part time at Ivy Tech. He was a DeMolay during his younger years following the footsteps of his father. Steve was a wonderful father, brother, and partner. He and his fiance, Karen, loved to travel together. Their favorite destination was Hawaii where they got to experience scuba diving and helicopter rides. No matter where he went, he always made sure to check out the food.

Steve is survived by his daughters Erin (Patrick) Durr and Erica Slusser; sister Kim (Billy) Weikle-McCartney; fiance Karen Fite; grandchildren Brooke Durr, Arwen Fewell, and Jonah Fewell; nephew Drew (Michelle) McCartney; great-niece Rosalie McCartney; and bonus daughters Molly (Rob) O'Sullivan, Emily Fite, and Aubrey Bishir.

In addition to his parents Steve is preceded in death by his brother Gregory Weikle.

In honor of Steve's wishes there will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to your local youth sports program.
