Wayne Hornbuckle

Wayne Hornbuckle, age 56, Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 9:56 pm at IU Health. Wayne was born on July 12, 1965 in Kokomo, IN the son of Waid F. Hornbuckle Jr. and Betty (Wood) Hornbuckle. He was raised in Kokomo where at an early age it was clear he had a desire to fulfill all of his curiosities. He loved to work with his hands, whether it was taking things apart to figure out how they worked or creating things with his word-working skills. He spent many hours in the woodshop building beautiful pieces of furniture with his father. He also loved playing poker, hunting, and fishing.

Wayne lived his life in the moment, wild and free. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his kids and grandchildren. His proudest moments in life were the days that his children and grandchildren were born. As well as the day that he walked his oldest daughter down the aisle. He strongly felt that you should stand up for what you believe in and that you should learn from your mistakes and do your best to mend fences whenever possible. He was a stubborn man but will always be remembered for his big heart, love for his family. and his big smile. He truly had a sense of humor that could light up a room.

Wayne is survived by his mother, Betty (Wood) Hornbuckle; brother, Shane Hornbuckle; daughters, Jennifer (Cory) Landis, Leah Hornbuckle; grandchildren, Braxton Landis, Paxton Leonard; love of his life, Angie Scott; many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father Waid Hornbuckle Jr.; grandparents, Waid and Beatrice (Perry) Hornbuckle, Jack Wood and Dessie (McCoy) Ames.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 6, 2022 at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home 2097 West Alto Road Kokomo, Indiana 46902. Burial will follow at Kokomo Memorial Park Kokomo, Indiana.
