

He was preceded in death by his mother, and subsequently adopted by Jacqueline “Jackie” May (Edwards) Plank.
William was a Kokomo High School graduate of 1979. After high school, Bill enlisted in the Navy.
After the Navy, Bill had many varied jobs including meat cutter, construction worker, welder, office worker, semi driver, and most recently cab driver. Many in Kokomo knew him as the bowler wearing driver at Kokomo Cab.
From an early age, he was an avid reader and science fiction buff. Some of his favorite TV shows included Dark Shadows, Lost in Space, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. He enjoyed discussing history, philosophy, and technology, at length.
Family was very important to Bill. Whenever anyone needed his help, he was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed going to the Indianapolis 500 with family, which he attended off and on since 1974.
In addition to his mother, William is preceded in death by his brother, George Joseph, and sister, Angela Margarette.
He is survived by his parents, George and Jackie; siblings Brenda May Leap, Robert Marion Plank, Jessica Christine (Greg) Horoho; Nephews and Nieces Donald Martin (Lucinda) Krieg, Samantha Renee (Francis) Murphree, Jennifer Rose (Ted) Mentz, Michael Lee (Alexandra) Wolfe, Tyler Gregory Horoho, Dax Webster Horoho; and many great nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday,October 20, 2017 at 2pm at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Brian Cook officiating. The family will offer visiting hours from 12pm to 2pm.
