Me and my dad use to pass the football to each other outside and he would help me with my math and would buy me a rc truck

Ka mea aloha, literally meaning “the thing of love” or “the beloved one”, was the name given to Gavin by our late Kumu Pohaku, as part of Kameaaloha’s initiation into hula. Fittingly, Kameaaloha was also the namesake of Johnny Kameaaloha Almeida, a famous Hawaiian musician and songwriter that inspired generations of Hawaiian music artists to follow, including Gavin and myself. In this time of grieving, I am comforted by the awareness that this name now brings. I am reminded that this talented and dynamic personality I grew to know and love as Gavin and Kameaaloha was but a narrow and transient expression of a much broader and more profound being that continues to exist far beyond the mortal form. I am reminded that Kameaaloha was and is an eternal and integral expression of life that persists here now even after our brother’s human form has transitioned beyond the parameters which we were more familiar with. Kameaaloha reminds us that our brother actually physically exists here in the real world, that he has always existed here, and that he exists unconditionally because he is loved unconditionally. To love unconditionally means that we accept and allow something or someone to exist just as they are regardless of our personal preferences. I admit that my personal preference would be for Kameaaloha to be with us now in the mortal form that I have become accustomed to, but I can and do accept that to love him unconditionally is to let go of such a notion and be present with what is. I am reminded that his Hā, or life breath, is still here--that the subatomic physical constituents of his being have not been destroyed nor could they ever be. Indeed, Kameaaloha is still very much here with us; yet, I can no longer pretend that he is limited to some arbitrary identity.  Indeed, Kameaaloha is here and will always be here as a thing of unconditional love. Mālama pono my brother. Ua noho au a kupa i kou alo, a kamaʻāina i kou leo. Amama ua noa.

 In 1983 , we moved from Waianae, back to Kauai and lived in Hanamaulu..  Gavin was about 3-4 years old.. 
 Desiree, Francis, Chelsie and Gavin decided to play hide n seek. After awhile three older kids came in the house saying they can’t find Gavin. We looked and looked and called, nothing. I started to panic almost crying. Soon one yelled  “come, come his over here! I looked a saw him asleep in one of our moving boxes! 
He really scared me.🦋

In 1986-7, we moved back to Jerves st. Gavin was kindergarten or 1st grade. All four kids walked to Wilcox School because all adults worked mornings.
One day about 7:30-8am. Gavin hit her car with a rock while walking to school. I believe she stopped her car n spoke to them., that was a scary moment  I found out later, through the school.🦋
