Rhoda Leona Lai Moi Nadoza, 69, of Eleele, Kauai, passed away on February 18, 2023. Rhoda was born on July 14, 1953, to Theodore and Mary Galang in Honolulu, Hawaii. She was the youngest of six children and grew up in the Honolulu area. She graduated from Farrington High School.
Rhoda was industrious and a hard worker, including many years as a housekeeping attendant at the Sheraton Waikiki. She wasn’t one to wait for a handout but went after what she wanted “to make it happen” and provided well for her family.
Rhoda was fun-loving, daring, adventurous, and fiercely independent. She never stayed where she didn’t feel comfortable and was affectionately known as the “Roadrunner” by her closest friends for times when she just “disappeared”. Rhoda was always generous and thoughtful of others, and found joy and inspiration in the smallest of details. She loved giving gifts to make others happy and was always fascinated by science and the latest technological gadgets.
Rhoda is survived by her three daughters – Camille (Thom) Sirivattha, Janna Nadoza, Amanda (Edward) Keopuhiwa, two sons - Criscente Pascual, Jr., Jeffrey Pascual, four grandchildren – Thomalin, Ella, Haley and Trent, her brother Colin Galang and sister Maelinda Holliman, nephew Daniel Holliman, and niece Andrea Holliman. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and three brothers - Neville Galang, Hobart Galang and Sean Galang.
As she requested, no services will be held. In honor of her memory, please share your memories and stories of Rhoda below.
