You were a beloved grandson, nephew, friend and most loving son to your wonderful mother and woman of God, Marina Minter and your strong courageous father Chauncey David Powell. Those who were blessed enough to encounter his warm infectious smile and kindred spirit will remember you forever, knowing you are now where you are suppose to be in the presence of your Heavenly Father above. NO more pain in your earthly body, but resting in God's Solace for HIS glory. Chauncey's intelligence far outweighed his age of only 29 yrs. at his passing. He was far wiser and with more depth then most his age, truly a gift from GOD. He was a wealth of information who could talk to you about many interesting topics that only a gifted gentle spirit could rely. He was so very special despite his adversity he overcame with a zest to continue his education with the focus of making his parents proud. He was a walking testimony of physical hardships with the spirit of God in him to never complain nor murmur despite his ongoing pain. He became born again in 1995 at a tender age of 10 yrs old, and he rededicated his life as an adult in 2006 at the age of 20 yrs old. Chauncey earned his AA and BA degree all the while dealing with a thorn in his side with so much grace. Chauncey had his own personal relationship with GOD but never infringing his belief unless the opportunity allowed him to share it with other's for his humble spirit was ever so gentle. He gave to those who wanted to know more of their own choice and NO doubt he knew to what degree he felt necessary at the time. Chauncey LOVED music, comedy, skateboarding, the gun range, surfing, video games and feeding his mind, spirit and soul with knowledge in self improvements books, where his passion also layed. Sunset Cliffs was a Favorite place for him, where He LOVED to see the beautiful sunsets and at time read the book of proverbs for its deep wisdom that he relied upon and used to guide himself in this life along with his family & friends. COMEDY was a BIG deal to him which is how he dealt with his pain inside and used it to deal with the sadness he encountered at times. If you knew Chauncey well you knew that he truly loved his Mother, his Father and his family more than anything in the world. Also he truly knew who he was in Christ. He was ever so humble despite all he had to overcome and no matter what he always showed the good in everything to everyone because his Church lied in him and has he once told his mother when she asked him why won't you go to church with me?. He looked at her intently and said, Mama, aren't we to be the Church? A loving example of walking in the true spirit of GOD is how Marina finally rested on his true belief! Chauncey is leaving behind those very dear to him: Grandmother, Raquel Minter, His brother DeVon Powell, his Uncle's Johnny Minter and Dino Minter (Erin Minter) wife Cousins: Dino Minter Jr,, Cameron Minter, Reshon Tinsley, William Tinsley and his Beloved Mother Marina Minter and his Beloved Father Chauncey David Powell and all his dear friends . and distant family.
